Ukraine's Kramatorsk Heavy Duty Machine Tool Building Plant, which manufactures the Bohdana self-propelled howitzer, says it has mastered production of artillery barrels for Western systems. KZVV currently produces barrels in 25, 35, 40, 105, 122, 125 and 155mm calibers. The company says BAE Systems primarily orders barrels for the M777, AS-90, L119, FH-70, Krab and Archer, while KZVV also cooperates with Leonardo, KNDS and Rheinmetall. #Ukraine

Next – about "short" and "long" shells. Now many people think that the standard M107 shell is just a short shot at 14 km. And Ukraine really imports just such basic 14-kilometer shells from partners. But there are the same M107s with a range of 18 km, which are imported less.
The longer the range, the more scarce the projectile is. For example, 18 km projectiles are produced throughout the democratic part of the world at most 1 million per year. 22 km projectiles – 600 thousand per year, 30+ km – 500 thousand per year.
We must remember this when we talk about the transition to long-range shells. Because as of now, almost nothing has been delivered under the vaunted tenders, because there is a huge shortage of long-range gunpowder in the world - everyone is buying at speculative prices and there is not enough of it. This is happening, in particular, because the state concludes short-term contracts for several months, although the components for them must be purchased a year in advance.
Also, you can't contract only the longest-range shells, as they can't be delivered on time and in the right quantity. You need to think about how to get the maximum number of shells with the longest possible range from the market.
Не може да бъде.
What do you think about the prospects of the 203 caliber?
Complete shit! It is impossible to be divided into so many different systems, there must be unification. It will be very difficult for the manufacturer to make barrels, ammunition, and maintain the systems. It is better to focus on 155mm howitzers and long-range shells of increased power. Their destructive power will be approximately the same as 203mm.
